Clearly our nation is making an enormous mistake! We should elect Nancy as president and Harry as vice.

Thank you for -brainwashing- opening my eyes!

While most of my paycheck already goes to the government, under the new socialist regime will Nancy and Harry tell me where to send the rest? Is there somewhere to sign up?

I can't wait for a socialist utopia!!!!

But, I want you to sit next to me at the campfire, Ryan.

We'll buy everyone a coke and teach the world to sing. In perfect harmony.

It will be groovy. :)

I'm with you 100% on Animal Farm. Talking animals indeed. What a load of pseudo-communist bullshit.

Wait, our government ISN'T run by animals??

Well regardless, you can butter my butt and call me an anti-socialist biscuit. Albeit a flaky one.

Ah yes, a universal healthcare system, a financial safety net for jobless, lower than average unemployment rates, coalition governments that balance constituents concerns. Other than that, Socialism sucks

Thank you for standing up for socialism against this ignorant capitalist propaganda. I, too, have no patience for such insolent satire.

We need more believers like you, DT. I can assure you that, had you been born in my country, I would have allowed you to live despite our strict one-child policy. Or, at least, I would have put in a good word for you.

Socialism is indeed a terrible thing as it denies us our personal freedoms. What's worse, however, is this half-a-loaf of socialism. In the true sense of the political concept we would all be economic equals. In this recent scenario we all took on the debt of Wall St. as citizen of the U.S. But don't think for a second that if things get better that any of us would see a dime in profit. It's only a good idea to spread things out if it helps the guys on top.

Please forgive the length of this post. It was necessary to prove a point.
Let's say you make cookies. You are really good at making cookies. So you have an abundance of them. These cookies are also really good. They are so good in fact that you can trade them to get stuff. Like food, clothing, and other useful items. So with your cookie making skills you do well for yourself.
Keep in mind that these are your cookies. You made them with all your hard work.
So what happens when everyone around you sees how well you are doing and wants to be as well off as you. Do you:
A) Take all the cookies you've made and divide them equally among everyone so that no one has more cookies than another. And everyone shares in your bounty. Meaning, however, that you can only ever have as many cookies as the population allows. If the population increases and the amount of cookies stay the same you get lfewer cookies.
Or
B) You teach everyone how to make their own cookies. You make sure that every person has the same opportunity to get and oven and ingredients. This way everyone is free to make as many cookies as they want. If you have a lot of cookies then you worked to get them. If you don't then you didn't make enough. The point being that the amount you have is based solely on your own effort and not what's been dictated to you.

Independence is being accountable for one's self. Freedom is having the right to make a mistake.
